Release Note 029: OpenEdge 11.3 / 64 bit Progress Development IDE and runtime

Dear customer of the SmartComponent Library,

Progress Software has released OpenEdge 11.3 at the beginning of the month. Our tests have so far not indicated any regression issues that would stop us from supporting the SmartComponent Library on OpenEdge 11.3.

In addition to the existing 32 bit Progress Developer Studio IDE and runtime Progress is now also shipping a 64 bit version. We have only performed very limited tests with the 64 bit products so far.

We have however just fixed a minor issue with one of our .NET Assemblies. The Consultingwerk.Support.dll was compiled to support only x86 clients. We have now changed this to the “AnyCPU” setting. This allows us to use the same copy of the Assembly on 32 bit and 64 bit clients and we will ship this with the next regular update.

All other Consultingwerk Assemblies have already been compatible for both 32 bit and 64 bit clients.
