SettingsKey relevancy of SmartDataBrowser

 Problem

In cases where a SmartDataBrowser is showing wrong columns due to stored settings in the windows registry you can solve that issue by assigning it a new SettingsKey in the Visual Designer.

This can happen if you change the columns, where The SmartDataBrowser is bound to. Resulting in the SmartDataBrowser showing not the correct columns on deployed applications as they do hold outdated settings in the windows registry. By changing the SettingsKey, the reference to outdated settings stored in the windows registry is lost and the issue gets resolved.

Solution

Changing the SettingsKey

  • In the "SmartdataBrowser" at " Properties" you will find the field "SettingsKey".

  • Click in the field and delete the generated key.

  • Click on "Save all" in the toolbar on top:

  • If you right-click in the form window, a menu will open.

  • Select "Store Visible Grid Columns" from the menu.
